Tweaking somemore....

Hello all prim friends...

It's still bitterly cold here in Central Pa...It just takes your breath away when you step outside..

I'm thinking positive..only 48 days until spring...
Since I'm stuck inside I started some spring cleaning in my Family room downstairs...I painted the paneling last year after wanting to change it for years and hubby wasn't keen on that idea....But I finally went ahead and done one small portion of the paneling and showed him how much nicer it looked and he finally agreed ....

I went ahead and bought the paint and painted it within a few days after he agreed how nice it looked...I wasn't taking any chances on him changing his mind...

I done a makeover on the entertainment center by painting it black and set it back into the corner away from the window..It really opened the room up and brought more light into the room...

I also wanted to show you all the orbs that's was around me all day while I was working downstairs...I could feel a presence thru out the day and I knew if I took some pictures they surely would show up and they did...There more visible in the second pic....with the flash off..

Its very comforting knowing we're never alone...

Prim Hugs........

Hello all prim friends...

I hope everyone is staying warm on this cold Saturday morning....We're freezing here in Central Pa....cold..blustery day with no sun shinning what so ever...

I can deal with the cold if the sun is out and bright....today is not going to be one of those days... A good day just to stay inside...work on crafts or do some tweaking around your home...

That brings me to this post...I thought I would share another heart that I made last year...This is a Tennessee Ridge Primitive pattern..I just changed out the tag...

I put it on one of my wooden chairs downstairs in the family room along side the entertainment center.....

Hello all prim friends...

I thought I would post a picture of one of the hearts I made last year for Valentine's Day...This pattern was one out of the Create and Decorate magazine..

I hung it on one of my twig wreaths up on the side of the fireplace downstairs in the family room....

Prairie doll has found a home.....

Hello everyone....

I've been cleaning and tweaking downstairs in the family room today and decided to put the prairie doll that I posted yesterday on top of the entertainment center in a wooden crate along side a large black feed scoop...

After painting the room last year I decided to place the entertainment center back in the corner to open up the window that the center was mostly blocking.....
I hung one of my candle chandeliers directly above it and placed a wooden shutter with a blue/gray ticking linen to fill in the corner...

I'm happy with the arrangement for now...I promise I'll post more pics when the room is done the way I want...a work in progress..

Latest prim project

Happy cold Wednesday prim friends...

It's extremely cold here in central Pa. today....only in the mid 20's...brrrrrrrrrrr...
Were back to seasonal temperatures as expected....I preferred the 50 degree temperatures that we had over the weekend....
I keep telling myself just to keep thinking spring...we'll get there...just not soon enough for me..

I've been working on a few different projects these past couple of weeks....This doll is one of the Jackie Schmidt designs....I just changed it up abit from her pattern...

























I've been dividing my time between the wood shop and actually setting down at my sewing machine..I spent so much time last year in the wood shop that I wanted to get back in the sewing room to make some dolls.....quilts...homespun pillows..and curtains...

I have a whole list of projects that I want to start and finish for our home...

I have a herd of sheep that needs to be finished and turned out to pasture...there not liking it still laying beside my sewing machine...

So I am off to get my work done....everyone have a great day....take care...

Come look what I made

I got up this morning and made three loaves of homemade bread...
An Italian meatloaf....put baked potatoes in the oven and mixed up a yellow butter cake with peanut butter icing...





























Now its time to get some cleaning done and work on some crafts..

Window pane....linen rack

Happy Tuesday prim friends...

I hope all is well with everyone this rainy January morning...

It's been fairly warm here in central Pa. the past couple of days..

It's calling for rain the biggest part of today so I'm inside doing some crafting and tweaking around my home...

I've been making some ticking hearts for Valentines Day and sewing some prairie dolls for customers...

This morning I took one of my old windowpanes that came from my grandparents old farmhouse and made a linen rack out of it..

I've been wanting to make one for in my master bath just haven't had the time to get in the wood shop..

I removed all the glass that was in it and just draped the linen down over the framing that held the glass in...Added a couple of old tea stained socks and a twig wreath and Wa..La..a linen rack...

It's nice when you can make something that you've been wanting out of something that you already have.....No cost...No fuss...

So I'm off to fix lunch for hubby and son...Son stops everyday on this way to work to have lunch with us...He's not married yet so this way I know he is getting a hot meal and we get to spend some time with him..

Happy Saturday everyone...
Its a beautiful day here in Central Pa....50 degrees on the thermometer.

It would be so nice if it would stay this way the rest of the winter but I don't see that happening..
Spring can't get here soon enough for me....how about you all?

Stacking boxes

Hello all prim friends...
I hope all is well with everyone this cold January day...

I thought I would post pics of my paper mache boxes that I spoke about yesterday....I finished up the painting for now....I still want to do some stenciling on them ....just don't know what I want to put on them yet..

I'm trying to get back into sewing more....that's my way of de-stressing....just me and my sewing machine for hours on end...

I've been busy making dolls this past week...in between everything else....I haven't made any for quite awhile..got to involved in wood working...

Spring is coming and Easter is not far behind...I always make muslin rabbits for in my baskets I make up for friends and family....So that's another thing on my already long to do list...

I'm going to make this post fairly short....I have alot to do today...I'm not getting to much done setting on here....

Salt dough hearts

Hello all prim friends....
I hope all is well with everyone...Still cold here in Central Pa...It's expected to get up in the high 30's today....wow a heat wave...

I've been working on a couple sets of paper mache boxes I had picked up.. I've been painting..sanding them and staining... One set is finished....the second set...one box to go....I'll post some pics of them tomorrow after there dryed ...I wanted them to set on my black hutch...dry sink...and mantel to give some highth for my prims....

I also made up a couple of batches of salt dough Valentine ornaments for in my displays...I used three different sizes of cookie cutters as you can see in the pics...I have one coat of barn red paint applied...now waiting for them to dry to apply a second coat...I want to finish them up by dipping them in some wax to seal them...I just bought a larger heart cookie cutter over Christmas which I think I will try to make a few larger hearts....














After one coat of barn red paint applied.....

Wooden potato masher...round cutting board

Hello all prim friends....

I hope all is well with everyone this cold blistery Monday...



Hope you all had a wonderful weekend....DH and I stayed in and got some work done around the house...

As I mentioned in previous post I was cleaning my Kitchen cupboards...throwing things out and organizing....I came across this old wooden potato masher and round cutting board that I had forgotten I had stored away...

As you can see in this picture there is a burn spot on the handle...that came from lying against a hot pot on the cookstove many years ago..These two items belonged to hubbys grandparents and he got them from his mom...

You don't see to many of these round cutting boards anymore....they make everything square..

Kitchen...tweaking.......what a deal

Hello prim friends....

I hope all is well with everyone....I'm still hunkered down in this cold freeze that has gripped the country....

Dh and went shopping yesterday just to get out the house for awhile....I hate going out in these kind of temperatures but it felt good just to go and do some shopping and get a bite to eat...
We went to Walmart to see what or if any Christmas stuff was left and found a 12 ft Michigan Pine that was $198.00 and got it for $49.50.....Everything was 75% off....I couldn't pass it up....I've been wanting a taller and slimmer tree for in our Living room but the price of them were ridiculous...It pays to wait....in my case that tree was calling my name...

I've been doing some cleaning and tweaking in my kitchen these past few days..The tool caddy's that I have above the cupboards are getting cleaned and changed out today....don't know yet what I am going to put up there but definitely something different...

Signs found a home........

Hello all prim friends....

Its still cold here in Central Pa....

We had a few more inches of snow overnight...whats a couple of more inches...the snow piles just keep getting higher and higher....Oh well ...I guess we just have to grin and bear it....

I'm just thankful its not ice....

As I said in my last post I have been cleaning out my kitchen cupboards....I finished them up yesterday and started cleaning the walls and space on top of my cupboards....I had made new wooden signs over the weekend and got them put up....

My Butt'ry sign hasn't found a home yet....but I'm not done with my cleaning yet either so it still has a chance of being hung somewhere...

So I better get off here and get some more cleaning done....

Cleaning...Tweaking...Simplifying

Hello all prim friends....

I hope all is well with everyone this cold blistery day....It still hasn't warmed up to much here in Central Pa..

I guess we can't expect to much since it is winter time....I looked the other day to see when spring arrives...I'm not going to tell you how many days till the first day of spring.....its to depressing...

So I guess we just have to keep are self's busy in our homes on these long winter days...

That's what I have been doing since I took all the Christmas decor down...Cleaning...Tweaking and Simplifying...

I've been cleaning out my Kitchen cupboards....wiping everything down and throwing out.....It's unbelievable how many of those darn plastic containers you can accumulate over the year...

DH is one of those men that doesn't want to throw anything out since we might be able to use that five years down the road...lol...

It gets pitched when he's not looking....Just don't tell on me..lol..

I rearranged my shelf's at the end of the cupboards to give them a more prim look and for something different...

I thought I would share a few pictures after the tweaking was done...

I need to get back to my cleaning so thank you all for stopping by for a visit...

New Year....New You..

Good morning prim friends...

Happy 2010 to everyone.

The weather here in Central Pa has been unbelievably cold...The temperature has only been in the teens the past couple of weeks and the wind chill factor only makes it worse...

I'm thankful that I don't need to be outside in this bone chilling weather...

I've been getting back to my sewing which I didn't do a whole lot of last year....It's my way of relaxation at the end of the day....I got into alot of woodworking over the past couple of years since DH showed me how to run the power tools...

I did make up some signs for our home...As I said before I have to go with the darker colors on anything I make....we have tongue and groove walls and if I use a light color paint on any of my projects it just won't look right....I've tried a mustard color but it just blends into the walls to much...

I am going to try some darker blues and greens this year for something different...get away from so much Burgundy's and barn reds...

Here's a picture of some of the signs that I have been working on the past couple of days....Most of these are going up in my kitchen and a few in the Family room....





























I also had time to make up a few bodies for my dolls that I am going to get back into making..I got them coffee stained and baked yesterday along with a couple of muslin stockings that was waiting to be finished..

Sorry for all the space on the bottom of this post....This blogger is a peace of crap....You try to adjust the spacing and it only gets more space in between.......Just had to vent....
