~~Colonial wooden box~~

I hope everyone is having a wonderful fall Saturday...its gorgeous here today.
With the nice weather we've been having I have been able to get allot of my wooden projects painted and stained while setting outside in the warm beautiful sun..
One thing I have been wanting to make for quite sometime is a Colonial wooden box that you see allot on front doors hanging with vast amount of flowers...I first seen it on Linda's  blog...http://www.behindmyreddoor.blogspot.com.. last Christmas and I've been wanting to make one ever since......AND TODAY WAS THE DAY I FINISHED MY COLONIAL BOX...ADDED MY ARTIFICIAL AND REAL FOLIAGE AND HUNG IT ON MY FRONT DOOR..

I'm so pleased on how it turned out..only because its the first one I have ever made...It has some dents and dings in it but that's what makes it more pleasing to the eye....I'm not a master carpenter by any means but I can hold my own with hubby's power tools....
I painted it flat black...sanded it down and then added a heavy coat of minwax, walnut stain to it...It's going to stay black for now but I'm thinking closer Christmas it might have another color applied to it...I can see it now with allot of pine..winter berries and pine cones in it...You'll  all have to come back at Christmas time just to see what color it will be then...you just never know..
Speaking of Christmas I did do some Christmas shopping yesterday for my son...Some of the things he was wanting was on sale so I went and bought a few things and marked them off my list...Its never to early to start shopping....
So that's pretty much all for now...I'm done rambling on...I hope I didn't bore anyone...Your all welcome to come back anytime...thanks for stopping in and everyone have a safe and wonderful weekend..
Until next time..

~Hutch makeover and a few stills~

Hello everyone...another beautiful fall day here today....I've been getting caught up on some of the makeovers that I've wanted to get done while the weather was still warm .This makeover is on my hutch that I had painted black last summer and the more I looked at it the more I was  dissatisfied with it...so I decided to brighten up the shelves alittle bit..
I got out my valspar paint  and gave them three coats of beige paint then sanded them to give them a worn look and applied a coat of minwax, walnut stain to darken them up a bit..
And the next three photos are stills from the hutch...

~What is yet to come~

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful fall weather we are having...the mornings are cool and crisp...the leaves blowing in the wind..just a time to stop and enjoy the wonderful world that we live in..

Sorry I have been missing in blog land these past few months...As I said before we are helping out an elderly neighbor get his property cleaned  up and that's been pretty much all summer long so I really haven't had the time to sit and  chat for very long..I just popped in and seen how everyone was doing and then back outside to work..
I thought I would share a few pictures of what I am going to use on a project that I have had to put on the back burner.....I ordered  from Country Living Artisan's Collection two 32 oz. Textured Base coat...Peppercorn  paint to use for this project...I just picked it up from  the post office this morning and I am hoping by this weekend I can get started ...
So stay tune for my big reveal in the next couple of weeks and also a fall giveaway that I am going to have next week...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit...
Wishing everyone a safe and beautiful day...
