~~Prim display~~

Happy Monday to you all...
I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing weekend..
I spent the weekend doing fun things...Saturday we went Antiquing..I didn't find anything I wanted..Allot of things I seen but wouldn't use in my home...
The prices were outrageous on small items...things that weren't worth half the price they were asking..

I did put together a prim display for on top of my new cupboard that my son bought me..
Just something simple..not to overpowering..
I set it back in the corner beside the big screen TV for now..that way I can set and look at it while I'm watching TV in the evenings..
That does sound ridiculous doesn't it...But I believe in enjoying the simple things in life...
So I thought I would share of few pictures of my new prim display...

Thanks for stopping in for a visit...Come back when you get time...Have a great day..

New cupboard...early Mother's Day present...

Hello everyone..
I hope this post finds everyone in good spirits..The weekend is almost here...time to get some down time..at this Olde Homestead.anyway..

I've had a busy week trying to get things crossed off my to do list...
It just seems the more I get accomplished ...the more I seem to add to the end of my to do list....
Never done...Never ending....

That brings me to this post...A brand new cupboard arrived at the Olde Homestead today earlier than expected...Making more work...
You see I've been eyeing up this nice Barn Red Cupboard at a shop that I frequently visit..
It sat along side a really nice six panel Pie Safe that caught my eye right after Christmas..
I thought I would wait until warmer weather to pick it up but low and behold
my son bought me the Barn Red Cupboard for a early Mother's Day present...
He always surprises me this way...just out of the blue he'll go and buy me something that I really don't need but really really want...you all know how that is...
When he went to get the Pie Safe it was already sold so he brought home the Cupboard instead...

Believe me I was not disappointed at all..I was just thrilled to have either one of them...
So here's a few pictures of my new cupboard setting in the Family room...ready to be decorated...
It's done with a Black paint for an undercoat then Barn Red as the overcoat...
The Amish man that built this beauty done an magnificent job..Great craftsmanship..

Now the fun begins trying to decide how to decorate it..
Keeping the doors shut and use it for storage or open one or both doors
and decorate all four shelves with some of my treasures...
Decisions..Decisions...Decisions...
But great Decisions...

So thanks for stopping in to look at my new Cupboard...
Come back when you can stay longer...
Everyone have a safe and wonderful weekend..

Stepback cupboard...Jugs/Crocks

Happy Saturday everyone..
So much for the spring like weather we had practically all week..
Back to the 40's and wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour..

So I done some changing and rearranging today on my step back cupboard that I have in our Family room..
Grouped all my brown crocks together with the large and small matching jugs..
Other that setting two bobbins on the top shelf I didn't add anything else ..
Simple but pleasing to the eye..

Thanks for stopping in for a visit..
Come back when you can stay longer...
Have a great weekend everyone..

~~Easter decor~~

Hello everyone...

I hope all is well with all you prim friends this beautiful spring like day..
Its been in the mid 60's practically all week here..
Beautiful sunshine..a cool breeze...I couldn't ask for a more glorious day..

I've been slowly getting some of my Easter decor out and about at the Olde Homestead...
I found homes for the Easter pillows that I made and thought I would share some
pictures...
This is my tabletop display...I made the wax bunny and took plastic eggs and tore strips of homespun material and decoupaged them on...

Easter pillow on my make do chair...

On my deacons bench...
On my Windsor Rocker...

That will be just about it for today..
I want to get outside to enjoy this beautiful weather while we have it...
I'm setting here with the windows open listening to the birds chirping..
Such beautiful music to my ears...
Thanks for stopping in for a visit....
Come back when you get time..
Have a wonderful day ..

~~Happy Valentines Day~~

Wishing everyone a Happy and safe Valentines Day..

I thought I would save this little omen that I had pulled out of a Middeswarth Potato Chip bag last week one evening when I was hungry for potato chips...
I just had to keep it and post it for Valentine's Day...

Very appropriate for Valentines Day don't you think...
Thanks for stopping in for a visit..
Everyone have a wonderful Valentine's Day with you Sweetheart..
Take care and be safe..

~~Easters on its way at the Olde Homestead~~

Happy Sunday everyone...
I hope all is well and the weather in your neck of the woods is improving...
Were finally thawing out here in Central Pa...
The sun is shinning brightly today...melting all the ice that we accumulated over the past
couple of days...

I've been busy working on pillows for customers and for around the homestead for Easter...
Making bunnies and Easter eggs is on my list of projects to work on next...
There doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get as much done as I would like but I guess there's always tomorrow...
A few more Easter pillows finished up..
Two done with beige on cream and one done with beige on black...

Well that will be just about it..
I want to get all my sewing together so I can
set and watch the Superbowl this evening...I get allot of my sewing projects done while I'm setting in front of the TV.
A nice time to just sit and relax for a couple of hours...
So thank you to everyone that stopped in for a visit...
Be safe and take care...

~~Bathroom...Part 2~~

Hello everyone..Happy Saturday to you all.
Its a cold day here today...freezing rain...ice..ice and more ice..
Our driveway is like a skating rink...I walked down to the end of our driveway to get the newspaper and just about went on my butt acouple of times.....Not good at all to be outside in this mess...
A good day to set by the coal stove and do some more stitching..I think that's just what I am going to do today..

As promised in yesterday's post I said I would post the remaining pictures of my Changing and Rearranging  Bathroom that's in the lower level of our home...
I bought the cupboard at Michael's last fall and painted it black..It's good to store all the necessities need in a bathroom..
Shower curtain and valance in mustard with black stars...
Well that's going it be it for today...I'm going to go grab some of my sewing and sit in my comfy chair and stitch some more Easter pillows for around the homestead..
Thanks for stopping in for a visit...
Thank you to those that has left such wonderful comments...I really appreciate you all taking the time to let me know you stopped in for a visit..
Take care and be safe..

~~A little of this...A little of that~~~

Changing this and painting that..That's all I seem to be doing the past couple of weeks.
I seem to be on roll this week for getting my spring cleaning done..
I think my vitamins finally kicked in...lol
I've been working on my downstairs bathroom the past couple of days
and finally have it the way I want it...for now anyway..

I painted the wood around the mirror and the vanity black..
Made the wooden sock and painted it black then stained it..
The Antique sign painted mustard over black..
The wooden scoop painted mustard over black..added black homespun tea towel with pip berry stems..
Changed the pip berries in the basket from burgundy and cream to mustard and black.
Hung two of my grandparents enamel wash pans.
and added a peg board with mustard and black homespun tea towels...

So I thought I would share some pictures of the changes I made...
I took one of my window frames and painted it black then hung six mustard colored tea towels off the wooden inserts that held in the glass panels...
Basket with mustard and black pip berries...
And two old wash boards...
Thanks for stopping by for a visit...Come back tomorrow for part 2 of my Changing and Rearranging Bathroom...
Take care and be safe...

~~Wall of blues~~

Another room done and on to the next..
Well not really a room just our hallway..
I finished painting our hallway in the lower level of our home using a neutral paint..
I then add a 1x2 board...painted black(of course) the length of the wall using rusty masonry nails..
And another 1x2..painted black with masonry nails and hung it level where the ceiling and wall meets..
More or less where you would hang your wall paper border...

I then hung blue ticking tea towels on some of the nails...
And blue homespun tea towels on the rest.
Hung baskets off the top masonry nails and the walls finished.
Thanks of popping in for a visit....Come back whenever you can..
Be safe and take care..

Sheep-n-more....

I finished up the backing on my pillows yesterday and also took the time to
put the finish touches on my sheep....
I already had the body done just didn't get to finish him the way I wanted so I had him stored away in my Easter decor..
I've been trying to decide away to make a blanket for him that wasn't time consuming so this is
what I came up with..
Simple..Simple..Simple..

My pillows.. I finished with using homespun on all the backs...Now the fun of setting them around the homestead..
Bless all things Primitive...
The lord is my Shepard..I shall not want...
Hip pity Hop pity...Easters on its way...

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedules and stopping in for a visit...
Be safe and take care...
