Happy New Year...

We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room,
drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe
this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives..not
looking for flaws, but for potential..... Ellen Goodman..

Have a Happy And Blessed New Year...

Been Doing Some Stitching....

Happy Thursday everyone..
I hope you all had a Blessed Christmas like we did here on
Covered Bridge Road..
The count down to New Years is upon us..
It's going to be pretty quiet in our home..no parties..
no celebrations..just the two puppies to keep us company..

The kids are off doing there own thing so DH and I are just
content to stay at home and watch TV with the puppies..
Wearing my comfy PJ's..a cup of hot chocolate and a needle and
thread in my hand is my idea of a wonderful evening..

I've done allot of stitching over this past year and just never finished
up on some of the them..So a New Year's resolution is to finish the
one's I have started before I start a new one...We'll see how that goes..
I can't promise anything but I am going to try...

With that said I'll leave you with pictures of the ones that need
to be done...These designs are my own..

These ones are going on ditty bags..
The two on the right are primitivebetty's design..
Country Rustic Primitives...
A few more of mine...
These three  I'm not sure about..so if these design belongs to any of you ladies just let me know. For the life of me I can't remember..
This one I done over last summer...
Thanks for stopping in for a visit..
Come back when you get time out of your busy schedules..

Happy New Year ...stay safe and take care..

Christmas pics...

Happy Monday everyone..
I hope all is well and your staying warm..
It's bitterly cold here today..low in the teens last night..
I am so ready for summer to come, enough of this cold weather..

I am so far behind in my Christmas decorating this year due to remodeling our
Sun room..I just don't have the time to do as much decorating as I usually do.
Our 12ft tree didn't go up either ...with two new puppies I wasn't taking
the chance of it coming down on top of them..

I wanted to post  a few pictures of my cook stove that I have
decorated for Christmas this year.
Normally I don't decorate it but I was rearranging in my Summer
Kitchen and decided to take the wooden box off the kitchen counter and put them on the cook stove.

I then placed my 3ft.tree in my goat cart and set it alongside
the stove.....

Thanks for stopping in for a visit.
Hopefully I can get time to post some more
Christmas pictures .
In the mean time stay save..stay warm and take care..

Christmas Mantel

Happy December everyone.
I finished up on my Mantel today after going out and
harvesting some Winterberries ..
I started by placing three of my Old World Santa's that are different heights in the
center of the mantel..Draped my garland with two set of white lights across the full
length...I then placed my harvest of  Winterberries in the garland.
I had bought six bags of Ocean Spray Cranberries while shopping for Thanksgiving and
strung four of those bags on heavy black quilting thread..Draped them at different lengths across
the front of the mantel and my Christmas Mantel was done.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit to look at my
Christmas Mantel.
Come back when time permits to see more Christmas pictures from
the Olde Homestead...

Santa..Cranberries and Orange Slices...

Happy Tuesday everyone..
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving..I hosted the Thanksgiving meal which was
enjoyed by all including our two new additions..Black Lab puppies Bella and Rylee.
They have been recking havoc to our home, with two of them it's something to
get used to....Never a dull moment with them two..I've been trying to
get some good pictures of them but they won't set still long enough..
But I'll keep trying..

Its been gorgeous weather here since last Friday and that
gave me the opportunity to get outside in between potty time for the girls and get my Christmas
Decorating done..
I gathered my greens from the Pine Trees and picked up Pine
Cones with sap on them which resulted in sticky fingers..
There's nothing like trying to turn the door knob when your
fingers are all sticky and stuck together...Not good .

I haven't cut my Winter berries yet to add to the decor, hopefully I can get that done within
the next day or so...These our a few pictures of the Summer Kitchen without
the berries..Just something simple...

Thanks for stopping for a visit..
I'll be posting more Christmas pictures in
the up coming days so come back when
you get time..
Have a wonderful evening..

Not even half of it..

I know I'm not the only one that gets out there Christmas decor and can't believe just how
much of it I've accumulated over the years...
I thought I done good last year by giving away allot of things that I didn't use but by the
looks of things I still need to sort through and give away..This isn't even all of it..That's not good.
I did buy a few more Old World Santa's over the Summer but other
than that I didn't add to much to my Christmas decor.

Old World Santa's..Christmas trees and garland out ready to be
placed for the holiday season..

I'm running behind this year..this stuff should have been already in its place and
ready for the holiday season...I've had to many things going on and just didn't
have the time to get an early start on my Christmas decorating..
So hopefully within the next couple of days this table will be bare.

Thank you all for stopping in for a visit..
Come back when time permits..

Starting of the Christmas decorating..

Hello everyone.
I hope all is well and your all getting into the holiday spirit.
Thanksgiving is 10 days away and Christmas will be here before we know it.
The weather has been warm here the past week so I thought I would get a
jump on some of the outside decorating.
I gathered greens from the pine and cedar trees on our property and filled my
door boxes along with ornamental grasses.
All I need know is my Winter berries and the door boxes will be done.

This is the Sunroom Door...

This is the Front Door..

Thanks for stopping in for a visit.
I hope you enjoyed the starting of my Christmas decorating.
Have a great day and take care.

Autumn..Wooden Door Boxes..

Happy Sunday to you all..It's a beautiful fall day here today.
The weather is perfect to get outside and do some fall decorating..
I finished up my wooden boxes that I have on my front door
and the sun room door for the Autumn Season..
I added corn stocks with corn along with my fall flowers..

This is the Front Door...
This is the Sun room Door..The sun is peaking Thru the Pine Trees
behind me so that's the light spots on the door..At first I thought
I missed painting some areas on the door after I took this shot and
had to get a closer look..Thank goodness it is just the sun shinning Thru.
Well I'm off to get back outside and enjoy this beautiful fall day..
Thanks for stopping by for a visit..
Come back when you get a chance..
