Outside Christmas decor......

Hello everyone...

I hope all is well with everyone and you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends...

I've been trying to take some outside pictures of our home decorated for Christmas but the weather hasn't been cooperating....really windy and cold...

I did manage to get a few without my hands shaking to bad from the cold....

We didn't put up the icicle lights around our front porch this year...we opted for flood lights that

light up the entire front of the house instead...I put my welcome lights in all the windows and made swags out of real greens and winterberries to hang from the windows....

Two six foot alpine trees are in the front windows of the new sun room....another room I have the pleasure of decorating...

Decorated my extra large wreath to hang centered above the front porch....I made sure DH cemented in a long treated nail last summer when the stonework was being finished so I could hang a wreath at Christmas....I was thinking ahead....he did the same in the stonework on the sun room where I hung my black star.....

This is the front of the house at daylight....you can see the wreath hanging and the swags on the windows...

I hope you all enjoyed look at our home all decked out for Christmas....stay tuned for some inside pictures over the next few days...

Thanks for stopping by.

Bowl rack....holiday touch

Hello everyone....

Its a cold rainy day today here in central Pa...A good day for decorating....

I've just been decorating the home for Christmas...baking cookies....and making crafts..

I done alittle decorating on my bowl rack yesterday evening...it's simple..but has the holiday touch...

I've paired down quite abit the past couple of years for the holidays...just want something simple...not anything glitzy...

I like being able to go out into my back yard and find the green's that I need for my decorating...I am so blessed to be able to do that..I know...not everyone can..

I also put up my tree in the Family room last night...I didn't get it decorated yet...that's on my list for this evening....This tree gets all the homemade wooden ornaments with raffia...Simple but cute...

Wishing everyone a great day and thanks for stopping by...

Primitive candy canes

I've been so busy getting things sewed..stuffed...grundged...and put together for Christmas the day's have just been flying by....

Thanksgiving is next week....where has November gone to...

Christmas will be here before we know it...

Between getting the outside of the house decorated for Christmas and working on craft projects for customers and things for our home...the day is gone before I know it...

This has been candy cane week for me...it seems that is mostly what I have been working on.

Here is a picture of my large candy canes that I joined together with aged cheesecloth then added artificial pine with red berries..Placed them on my shelf above the coal stove in the downstairs Family room....

These are a smaller version of the large candy canes just changed them using ticking fabric....aged them with coffee and cinnamon mixture...tied cheesecloth around them and added artificial greens and a dried apple slice....

I had an old wooden strainer that I picked up from somewhere so I thought what the heck...thats where the candy canes are going......Just added artificial greens to give it volume then went out and cut a few sprigs of real pine green's and stuck them here and there thru out the strainer.....Cut some winterberries and added them....

This is the finished project.....

I hope you all liked my newest creations....thanks for stopping by....come back soon...I will be having a 100 post giveaway in the upcoming week...

Red ticking stockings

Hello everyone...

I thought I would show you all four more of the red ticking stockings I had gotten done..
I gave them the aged appearance by soaking them in coffee, backed them for 10 minutes ...then rubbed cinnamon all over them..
Finished them by adding a rusty bell with a black safety pin...
These measure about 12 inches in length....

I put up two 6ft alpine tree's in the two front window's of the sun room for the holidays and needed some ornies just for that purpose....

Thanks for stopping by for a visit and leaving me the nice comments....Stop back again when you all get time...

Wishing everyone a great Saturday....

Homespun Tea Towels

Good morning fellow bloggers..

It's another dreary day here in Central Pa. today...not cold though..in the mid 50's which isn't to bad.
Just not any sunshine to lift your spirits and get you going..

I'm working non stop on Christmas items...making to sell and things for our home...
These are two homespun tea towels that I finished up for on my bowl rack and drying rack...

Bought tickling for the towels and hand stitched blessing and peace on small piece of muslin that was grubbed up...I used heat n bond to secure it to the towels instead of sewing them on...

I need to get back to my sewing so I thank you all for dropping by and looking at my newest creation....

Wishing everyone a Happy Friday the 13th and safe and blessed weekend...

Winter Wonderland

How's everyone doing this beautiful Monday...I hope everyone had a great weekend...We had gorgeous weather here in central Pa. all weekend....

As I mentioned in my last post I went and cut my harvest of winter berries..

Yesterday afternoon I made my way outside to cut some of the green's I wanted to use for my front door..I also deleafed all the winter berry and picked up some pine cones..I wanted to get some of my outside decorating done since the weather was beautiful and got pretty much all of my front door decorated...

I had to do some tweaking on it this morning and am now satisfied how it turned out...

I also added green's winter berries and pine cones in my long john basket hanging on my front door...

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedules to pop in and see the beginning of my holiday decorating....Stay tuned for there's more to come....

Hugs to all,

Motherload of Winterberries

Good Sunday morning to all you fellow bloggers...

It's a gorgeous day here in central Pa...expected high in upper 60's..

A good day to take a walk in the woods and get all my greens for the holidays..

I went out early this morning to get my winterberries ...I found the motherload of berries where I hadn't really look before....I took my Explorer only because I had to get out on the main highway and I didn't want to loose all of them coming home...I just threw an old sheet in the back..laid the back seat down and started cutting away...
I was very pleased to see almost all of the leaves had already fallen off....great for me...

This last bunch I cut still have allot of the leaves attached so you all know what I am going to be doing this afternoon...

So I am off to the woods to cut some green's..Hopefully I won't get shot, since hunting season is in around here..There isn't to many hunters out on Sunday's ...

Wishing everyone a great day...Stay safe and hugs to you all...
