It's coming to a close....
Hello prim friends....
How's everyone doing after all the hustle and bustle of Christmas...We had a wonderful time with family...started on Christmas eve day when our daughter came home to spend a couple of days home with Mom,Dad and brother...
We started out with riding around acouple of nearby towns looking at Christmas lights....we have done this every year as long as I can remember...
After looking at all the beautiful lights we headed on home to open all the gifts and spend some quality time with one another....
Now its five days later and most of the Christmas decor is down and put away....I started on decluttering yesterday and what a difference how the house looks without all the decorations..
I've paired down quite abit the past couple of years with all the decor...it just looks so much better without something in every nook and cranny of the house..Simplify...Simplify...Simplify...
I took alittle break today and done a quick makeover on my wooden box that I bought acouple of weeks ago....It was a bright mustard color and I changed it out to a barn red.....I was going to leave it as is but when I set it down against the tongue and groove wall it blended in to much with the color of the wood...so out came the paint and stain..
This is before the face lift....
This is after....I set it beside my black hutch that I had done over earlier in the year....I new when I seen it...it would be perfect beside my Recliner holding my Country Sampler magazines...and that's is exactly what I am using it for....

Well as I said..this year is quickly coming to a close....I can't believe how fast this year went...But I guess there's no use worrying about it....its out of our hands and we can't do anything about it anyway...
So thanks for stopping by....take care and stay safe and warm where ever you are....

Some holiday photos........
Happy Holidays everyone...
Since everyone is in full swing of Christmas I thought I would share some holiday pics of my summer kitchen...I've tweaked and tweaked again in this room...It's finally how I want it to look...I think for now anyway...I usually put alittle tree on my Hoosier cabinet every year but this year I wanted something different so I put one in my goat cart....I'm pleased how it turned out...so its going to stay put for the holidays...
I set it along side the old cook stove to help offset the stonewall that practically runs the length of the kitchen....It fills up the empty space beside the stove and adds Christmas cheer to the kitchen..

The next two pics show the cookie cutters...rag balls....dried apple slices and the cranberry garland that I put on it.
This is the small bread riser similar to the one on my Dining room table...just a small version..
I hope you enjoyed some Christmas cheer....I'll post some more pictures tomorrow so came back when you get a chance......I now need to get back to my baking...
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays to all..

It took my breath away......
Good morning fellow bloggers....
Is everyone staying warm in these frigid temperatures we are having...
Its looking allot like Christmas outside now with the snow and the cold temperatures....
I wanted to show you all what appeared in my picture that I took downstairs this morning....
Look up in the left hand corner of the picture of the candle that is burning...what does it look like to you....
I think I stopped breathing for a few seconds when I seen it....Doesn't it look like a cross????
I had to show DH right away and he thought it definitely looks like one....I love to see things like this appear out of nowhere....
Its just a beautiful sight this time of year...Brings the whole meaning of Christmas right back ...
Now that I am calmed down...lol...thanks for stopping by...and I hope this picture means as much to you all as it does to me....
Happy Holidays,
Trena

Some makeovers....
Hello all prim friends...
I hope all is well with everyone the way the weather is acting up all over the country....
We had a terrible snow, sleet, freezing rain storm here in central Pa. last night...the roads were a mess..but thankfully everything is melting today....
I took alittle break yesterday and done a makeover on my bread box that I bought over the weekend...
This is the before....
This is it with a makeover....
When I look around my summer kitchen....that's where I put this bread box... I see allot of things painted either Barn red or Burgundy....With the walls painted a neutral color I always go for a darker color on the things I buy or do over because a lighter color blends in to much with the walls..
I have a wooden box that I bought with this bread box but haven't had a chance to do a makeover on it yet...I think tonight I might get started on it....but who knows....I still have signs to get done...
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays to all...

Some more Christmas pictures
Hi all prim friends....I've been busy today doing some tweaking with my Christmas displays downstairs....
I moved my black cupboard out of my summer kitchen and placed it up against the stone fireplace wall for a change...
Here's a few pics of the changes.

Thrift store finds......
Hello everyone....It's a cold December morning here on Covered bridge Road....got down
to a 28 degrees last night......Brrrrrrr.....very very cold....
I absolutely hate winter but I really get into nesting over the long wintry days...sitting on the rocking chair by the stove sipping a French Vanilla Cafe...nothing better than that...of course though I don't ask for much...lol...
I went TS shopping yesterday to see what goodies I could find....An old wooden box already painted an aged mustard and a bread box..I only paid $15.00 for the both of them which I didn't think was to bad...
This I think is going to go beside my black hutch for now and used to store all my country sampler magazines..
This post is going to be fairly short...I have allot I want to get done today...Christmas is fast approaching....
Thanks for stopping by and wishing everyone a glorious holiday season...

Our first snowfall.....
It's beginning to look allot like Christmas on Covered bridge Road....We got our first snowfall today...amounted to about three inches...It's not a hole lot but it made everything outside just beautiful...
I went out and took a few pics of the house and the Covered bridge all draped with a blanket of snow...
This is on the north side of our sun room....There's two sleds...a wagon with a rusty bucket of greens...mailbox and an old wooden chair with a snowman under all the snow....
Split rail Fence....
This picture I took of the Covered bridge is taken from our driveway...isn't it just gorgeous...

Here's a few pictures of my tree in the Living room....I done it all with ornies...dried apple and orange slices....rag balls.....Christmas pillows.....homespun stockings and finished it off with raffia...

Outside Christmas decor......
Hello everyone...
I hope all is well with everyone and you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends...
I've been trying to take some outside pictures of our home decorated for Christmas but the weather hasn't been cooperating....really windy and cold...
I did manage to get a few without my hands shaking to bad from the cold....
We didn't put up the icicle lights around our front porch this year...we opted for flood lights that
light up the entire front of the house instead...I put my welcome lights in all the windows and made swags out of real greens and winterberries to hang from the windows....
Two six foot alpine trees are in the front windows of the new sun room....another room I have the pleasure of decorating...
Decorated my extra large wreath to hang centered above the front porch....I made sure DH cemented in a long treated nail last summer when the stonework was being finished so I could hang a wreath at Christmas....I was thinking ahead....he did the same in the stonework on the sun room where I hung my black star.....

Bowl rack....holiday touch
Hello everyone....
Its a cold rainy day today here in central Pa...A good day for decorating....
I've just been decorating the home for Christmas...baking cookies....and making crafts..
I done alittle decorating on my bowl rack yesterday evening...it's simple..but has the holiday touch...
I've paired down quite abit the past couple of years for the holidays...just want something simple...not anything glitzy...
I like being able to go out into my back yard and find the green's that I need for my decorating...I am so blessed to be able to do that..I know...not everyone can..
I also put up my tree in the Family room last night...I didn't get it decorated yet...that's on my list for this evening....This tree gets all the homemade wooden ornaments with raffia...Simple but cute...
Wishing everyone a great day and thanks for stopping by...
