Primitive candy canes

I've been so busy getting things sewed..stuffed...grundged...and put together for Christmas the day's have just been flying by....

Thanksgiving is next week....where has November gone to...

Christmas will be here before we know it...

Between getting the outside of the house decorated for Christmas and working on craft projects for customers and things for our home...the day is gone before I know it...

This has been candy cane week for me...it seems that is mostly what I have been working on.

Here is a picture of my large candy canes that I joined together with aged cheesecloth then added artificial pine with red berries..Placed them on my shelf above the coal stove in the downstairs Family room....

These are a smaller version of the large candy canes just changed them using ticking fabric....aged them with coffee and cinnamon mixture...tied cheesecloth around them and added artificial greens and a dried apple slice....

I had an old wooden strainer that I picked up from somewhere so I thought what the heck...thats where the candy canes are going......Just added artificial greens to give it volume then went out and cut a few sprigs of real pine green's and stuck them here and there thru out the strainer.....Cut some winterberries and added them....

This is the finished project.....

I hope you all liked my newest creations....thanks for stopping by....come back soon...I will be having a 100 post giveaway in the upcoming week...

Red ticking stockings

Hello everyone...

I thought I would show you all four more of the red ticking stockings I had gotten done..
I gave them the aged appearance by soaking them in coffee, backed them for 10 minutes ...then rubbed cinnamon all over them..
Finished them by adding a rusty bell with a black safety pin...
These measure about 12 inches in length....

I put up two 6ft alpine tree's in the two front window's of the sun room for the holidays and needed some ornies just for that purpose....

Thanks for stopping by for a visit and leaving me the nice comments....Stop back again when you all get time...

Wishing everyone a great Saturday....

Homespun Tea Towels

Good morning fellow bloggers..

It's another dreary day here in Central Pa. today...not cold though..in the mid 50's which isn't to bad.
Just not any sunshine to lift your spirits and get you going..

I'm working non stop on Christmas items...making to sell and things for our home...
These are two homespun tea towels that I finished up for on my bowl rack and drying rack...

Bought tickling for the towels and hand stitched blessing and peace on small piece of muslin that was grubbed up...I used heat n bond to secure it to the towels instead of sewing them on...

I need to get back to my sewing so I thank you all for dropping by and looking at my newest creation....

Wishing everyone a Happy Friday the 13th and safe and blessed weekend...

Hello everyone....How's you all doing this fine Tuesday morning?

I thought I would show you a couple of the homespun stockings I have been making lately....
They aren't going to be hanging on the mantel for Christmas....just hung them there to take some pictures...

I've made them out of muslin that I tea dyed and homespun that I grubbed up....Rubbed some cinnamon on them..added a prim tag attached with a clothes pin that I painted black...

I hope these pictures get all you ladies in the mood to start decorating for Christmas....

Christmas is in full swing at our home...

I'm off to get some sewing done....

Wishing everyone a great day...

Winter Wonderland

How's everyone doing this beautiful Monday...I hope everyone had a great weekend...We had gorgeous weather here in central Pa. all weekend....

As I mentioned in my last post I went and cut my harvest of winter berries..

Yesterday afternoon I made my way outside to cut some of the green's I wanted to use for my front door..I also deleafed all the winter berry and picked up some pine cones..I wanted to get some of my outside decorating done since the weather was beautiful and got pretty much all of my front door decorated...

I had to do some tweaking on it this morning and am now satisfied how it turned out...

I also added green's winter berries and pine cones in my long john basket hanging on my front door...

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedules to pop in and see the beginning of my holiday decorating....Stay tuned for there's more to come....

Hugs to all,
