Wooden potato masher...round cutting board

Hello all prim friends....

I hope all is well with everyone this cold blistery Monday...



Hope you all had a wonderful weekend....DH and I stayed in and got some work done around the house...

As I mentioned in previous post I was cleaning my Kitchen cupboards...throwing things out and organizing....I came across this old wooden potato masher and round cutting board that I had forgotten I had stored away...

As you can see in this picture there is a burn spot on the handle...that came from lying against a hot pot on the cookstove many years ago..These two items belonged to hubbys grandparents and he got them from his mom...

You don't see to many of these round cutting boards anymore....they make everything square..

Kitchen...tweaking.......what a deal

Hello prim friends....

I hope all is well with everyone....I'm still hunkered down in this cold freeze that has gripped the country....

Dh and went shopping yesterday just to get out the house for awhile....I hate going out in these kind of temperatures but it felt good just to go and do some shopping and get a bite to eat...
We went to Walmart to see what or if any Christmas stuff was left and found a 12 ft Michigan Pine that was $198.00 and got it for $49.50.....Everything was 75% off....I couldn't pass it up....I've been wanting a taller and slimmer tree for in our Living room but the price of them were ridiculous...It pays to wait....in my case that tree was calling my name...

I've been doing some cleaning and tweaking in my kitchen these past few days..The tool caddy's that I have above the cupboards are getting cleaned and changed out today....don't know yet what I am going to put up there but definitely something different...

Signs found a home........

Hello all prim friends....

Its still cold here in Central Pa....

We had a few more inches of snow overnight...whats a couple of more inches...the snow piles just keep getting higher and higher....Oh well ...I guess we just have to grin and bear it....

I'm just thankful its not ice....

As I said in my last post I have been cleaning out my kitchen cupboards....I finished them up yesterday and started cleaning the walls and space on top of my cupboards....I had made new wooden signs over the weekend and got them put up....

My Butt'ry sign hasn't found a home yet....but I'm not done with my cleaning yet either so it still has a chance of being hung somewhere...

So I better get off here and get some more cleaning done....

Cleaning...Tweaking...Simplifying

Hello all prim friends....

I hope all is well with everyone this cold blistery day....It still hasn't warmed up to much here in Central Pa..

I guess we can't expect to much since it is winter time....I looked the other day to see when spring arrives...I'm not going to tell you how many days till the first day of spring.....its to depressing...

So I guess we just have to keep are self's busy in our homes on these long winter days...

That's what I have been doing since I took all the Christmas decor down...Cleaning...Tweaking and Simplifying...

I've been cleaning out my Kitchen cupboards....wiping everything down and throwing out.....It's unbelievable how many of those darn plastic containers you can accumulate over the year...

DH is one of those men that doesn't want to throw anything out since we might be able to use that five years down the road...lol...

It gets pitched when he's not looking....Just don't tell on me..lol..

I rearranged my shelf's at the end of the cupboards to give them a more prim look and for something different...

I thought I would share a few pictures after the tweaking was done...

I need to get back to my cleaning so thank you all for stopping by for a visit...

New Year....New You..

Good morning prim friends...

Happy 2010 to everyone.

The weather here in Central Pa has been unbelievably cold...The temperature has only been in the teens the past couple of weeks and the wind chill factor only makes it worse...

I'm thankful that I don't need to be outside in this bone chilling weather...

I've been getting back to my sewing which I didn't do a whole lot of last year....It's my way of relaxation at the end of the day....I got into alot of woodworking over the past couple of years since DH showed me how to run the power tools...

I did make up some signs for our home...As I said before I have to go with the darker colors on anything I make....we have tongue and groove walls and if I use a light color paint on any of my projects it just won't look right....I've tried a mustard color but it just blends into the walls to much...

I am going to try some darker blues and greens this year for something different...get away from so much Burgundy's and barn reds...

Here's a picture of some of the signs that I have been working on the past couple of days....Most of these are going up in my kitchen and a few in the Family room....





























I also had time to make up a few bodies for my dolls that I am going to get back into making..I got them coffee stained and baked yesterday along with a couple of muslin stockings that was waiting to be finished..
