Bathroom makeover

Happy Monday everyone.....I finished up on my downstairs bathroom.....it went from all Americana to more of a neutral color......I pulled all the aged wallpaper down and primed and painted the walls...Umber,from Valspar.

We replaced the vanity light with this new one.....it looks much better....

This is the windowpane I hung above the toilet with mustard homespun draped over the top...

Just bought the caddy the other day at a thrift store while out shopping....It was just a plain wood so I painted it black....over coated it with antique gold then sanded it down and added walnut stain .....Fits perfect on top of toilet for necessities....

This is my old wooden ironing board with mustard tea towel and an old chair with enamel wash bowl....

I bought this shower curtain from Country House....Colonial mustard/stars...Also bought matching valance...

This windowpane and washboards are above my washer and dryer.....

All the windowpanes displayed came from my grandparents old farmhouse....

I hope you like the transformation of my bathroom.....I sure do.....It came out just as I hoped...

Fathers Day cookies

I just finished these up for DH for his big day tomorrow.....He didn't want a bought or homemade cake so I made up his favorite cookie.....Homemade Oatmeal Cookies......

I made 8 dozen of these up and I am going to give 2 dozen to our elderly neighbor.....he doesn't have any family....he's almost 90 years old and lives alone...

This is my last post for today....hopefully I can get some more makeovers done this coming week and will be able to post them...

Until next time,

Caddy makeover

I had time today to do a makeover on my little red caddy that I got yesterday while out shopping......I didn't have anything in mind when I bought it,but when I got it home I decided to use it in my kitchen...

This is the before shot.......

This is the after........

I painted it black and put paper plates with napkins in it and I am using it in my Summer Kitchen....

Off to make some cookies....so that will be all for now....

Thrift Store buys

I went out and done some shopping yesterday and stopped at a local thrift store and found these goodies..

The red caddy was only $5.00...the basket was $2.00 and the candle holders were free...The lady wanted rid of them....they have small nails sticking out of the top and she was afraid someone would fall on them....I had no problem taking them....when something is free you don't pass it up....

I went out early this morning and found these goodies at a local flea market.

Both caddies were $5.00 each...one rolling pin was $4.00 and the other one was $5.00

I don't know what I am going to use them for yet....but I will find something....

The weather has been miserable here all week...I think we only had one nice day...that the sun was shining.....Next week looks like its going to be beautiful....

So everyone have a great weekend...

God Bless

Tweaking Tuesday

I was in one of those moods today to just change everything around....Things in my home don't stay in one place for very long....I get tired of looking at the same thing so today was my day of tweaking.....

This grouping I have in my Family room....I wanted something different so I added my old window with pip berries....large Burgundy metal star.....candle holders that I had done over with grubby candles and star/pip berries ring..

The shelf holds my block fire crackers and Americana bears.....

I'm off to get some more tweaking done....so everyone have a great day...

God bless....Trena

Makeover Monday

It's a gorgeous day here in Pa. today.....mid 80's with sunshine....

I went for my walk already this morning while it was cool....put a load of sheets and pillowcases out on the line to dry.....

Now I am ready to tackle the day....
I've been wanting to start showing some of my makeovers that I have been doing over the last few months....so today I thought would be the day.....

I have quite a few sets of these candle holders that I had bought from Home Interiors years ago....This is how they look when I purchased them.

This is how they turned out with a makeover.....I painted it black...used one of my grubby pillar candles and add a ring of pip berries.

So stay tuned for some more makeovers....I'll try to post some later in the day....

Everyone have a great Monday.....

God Bless...Trena

Happy Monday everyone....It's a beautiful day here in Pa.....in the mid 80's....very humid....
I hope everyone had a great weekend.....I got allot done outside since the weather was just gorgeous here.....

I've been working on changing out some of my prim displays....I thought I would start showing you different prim displays that I have around my home....

This is my hanging ladder that I have in my Summer Kitchen.....I found it in an old shed that we were cleaning out and cleaned it up and hung it above my old cook stove.....I wrapped grapevine around it secured a pip berry swag along the front rail....then just added allot of my baskets.

The stone wall behind the cook stove is all mountain stone we gathered up around our property .....In the kitchen side the cook stove is attached to it and the other side is in the Family room for the coal stove....

So stay tuned for more of my prim displays.....I hope everyone likes them and gives them ideas how they can change out there own displays in there own homes.

Have a great day.....off to get some work done..

Until next time.....Trena

Livingroom

Here is some pics of my Living room as promised......Are main floor is all tongue and groove wood on the ceilings and walls....The living room and the kitchen has cathedral ceilings with

wooden beams thru out...

At this bay window is where I place my 6ft Christmas tree every year.....

I change the 8ft oak mantel out for all four seasons.....sometimes more than that...

This is some of the wooden beams that extend out into the kitchen.....

I hope you enjoyed viewing pics of my home....I'll continue posting more as I get time....As you will see some rooms are more prim than others....I don't like clutter and I don't want my house to be overwhelming....It just a place that my DH built and a place where we call home....

It's Friday already....where has the week gone....I've been busy catching up on my makeovers.....the weather has been miserable all week....raining practically everyday..so I've been working inside catching up on some projects that needed to be completed...

I went out shopping this week to one of my prim shops that I shop at all of the time and brought home this spice cupboard.....It was to white looking for me so I sanded it down some and put on a coat of walnut stain.....gave it the aged look that I wanted.....

Well I'm off to get some housework done.....I plan to post some pics of my Living room in the next post.....done some cleaning and rearranging....so everyone have a great day...
